German School Internship & Workshop

Meet Aya May, Ayana and Sarah, 9th grade students at the German Embassy School in Beijing, who joined us for a two weeks internship at studio vapore in the last two weeks of May.

We gave them a small project to  complete over this short time, to re-design the entrance lobby of their school.

First step: brainstorming!

… and then heading to the school to interview the users.. what would they like for this space?

and now back to the studio to make a physical model of the space!!

starting with a few prototypes…

upgrading to a full professional model!

The team designed new furniture and elements for the students to meet in the lobby, a few corners for study reviews, and a house to climb to to relax! All inspired by the existing colour pallette.

We then asked them to make an official project presentation to studio vapore’ s team, Stefan Hoppel, the school vice-principal, and a few of the studio’s friends!

SUCCESS!!
Thank you Aya May, Ayana and Sarah, brilliant future designers for being with us!
