Situated in the HUB building of the Western Academy of Beijing (WAB), the performing arts classrooms awaited a fresh perspective.
Studio Vapore, under its founder, familiar with the school's essence through years of collaboration, was entrusted with the transformation of these vital spaces, encompassing dance, drama, and film.
For dance and drama, space and freedom of movement are paramount. Hence, the design introduced minimalist cubes, either in stark white or deep black. Walls and ceilings not only conceal state-of-the-art acoustic properties but are also streamlined. This meticulous planning, in conjunction with acoustic and MEP engineers, ensures an uninterrupted, clean aesthetic.
The film classroom takes on a more traditional vibe, offering a medley of seating options that foster diverse work methods. It boasts a dedicated nook for screenings and recordings and features concealed storage, complete with cozy bean bags optimal for immersive movie experiences.
Each classroom has a unique color identity, seamlessly integrating with a broader design narrative for the entire campus. These hues greet students at classroom entrances and continue their journey within, making their mark on the furniture and interiors.
Studio Vapore
