Every school has a history to celebrate, but displaying it in a way that is both dynamic and meaningful can be a challenge.

For the Western Academy of Beijing, we designed an Archive Wall — a museum-style display cabinet that brings the school’s story to life. The cabinet allows for flexible rotation of content: posters, photos, videos, mugs, t-shirts, and other memorabilia can be arranged to highlight an event, a year, or a theme.

The concept extends beyond a single wall. Variations of the display have been placed across the campus, visually connected by the school’s main colors and a skyline of its buildings. This creates a cohesive narrative thread while allowing each wall to serve a unique function.

A thoughtful combination of materials — pegboards, cube boxes, felt panels — makes the system highly adaptable. Even when the school is too busy to curate a new exhibition, the Archive Wall remains visually appealing, ready to showcase the next chapter in the school’s history.
